Yoga for Children

Bringing yoga into schools offers children powerful tools to support their wellbeing and learning. Yoga encourages mindfulness — helping children notice their thoughts and feelings and giving them strategies to respond calmly rather than react impulsively.

The benefits for children are wide-ranging:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • Improved focus, concentration and memory — supporting academic performance

  • Greater balance, flexibility and posture

  • A healthy outlet for energy and stress

  • Development of lifelong skills for emotional regulation and resilience

As an experienced primary teacher, I offer yoga sessions that can be tailored to your school’s needs, including:

  • PE curriculum lessons

  • Year group or whole-school workshops

  • Before and after school clubs

I am fully insured, DBS checked and trained with Children Do Yoga (CMA accredited).

I’ve delivered workshops and clubs for a wide range of schools across the West Midlands, including: Streetsbrook Infant School, Sharmans Cross Junior School, Monkspath Junior & Infant School, George Fentham School, John Willmott School, Swanshurst School and University College Birmingham (as part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme).

Supporting Staff Wellbeing

Children thrive when their teachers feel supported too. Staff wellbeing is a growing priority in schools — and for good reason. When teachers are cared for, schools see:

  • Higher staff retention

  • Reduced sick leave

  • Lower supply cover costs

  • A more positive and resilient school culture

With 15 years’ experience as a primary teacher — including 5 years in senior leadership — I know the demands school staff face. I’ve seen firsthand how yoga can improve energy, focus, strength and mental clarity. At my previous school, weekly after-school yoga sessions became a valued time for staff to move, breathe and focus on themselves without having to leave the building.

I can offer flexible packages to suit your setting, such as:

  • One-off sessions for INSET days or staff meetings

  • Regular after-school classes on site

  • Short or long-term wellbeing programmes
